The Georgia Satellites "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 08-09-24
American Southern rock band The Georgia Satellites are the "focus beam" band on this new episode of Boppin' With Beth! You'll hear about their story as well as a couple of rockers from their catalog! There's also tunes from band members past and present by Dan Baird solo and The Western Sizzlers plus songs from influences including Chuck Berry, Creedence Clearwater Revival, NRBQ, Bruce Springsteen, Ramones, The Rolling Stones and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Beth's Bop Of The Week is a new tune from our Kentucky pals Otis! Jammin' James Riley has a classic from The Centurians in Hang Ten. It's Boppin' With Beth's 200th show and to celebrate we take a trip to the record shop for another fun Beth's Crate Digging Extravaganza. The focus this hour is on the awesome album by Phil Keaggy titled "Phil Keaggy And Sunday's Child" released on Myrrh and A&M in 1988. This retro sounding album has stood the test of time! Hear 2 full tracks from the release as well as snippets of all the other tunes from the album. There's songs from some of Phil's influences including Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Bloomfield, Cream, Jeff Beck, Ricky Nelson and The Platters.
