Gym Owner's Growth Zone

19-07-2023 • 31 minuti

In this episode of the Gym Owner’s Growth Zone podcast, our host Andres Escobar sits down with Ed Turney, a former gym owner and the current Director of Affiliate Growth at Prestige Labs. They talk about Ed’s journey, from letting emotions drive his business to becoming more logical and data-oriented, and how that has helped his decision-making process and overall business sense. To hear more from Ed, follow him on Instagram @ed_turney!

Ed’s Journey

  • Ed has a background in theater and performing martial arts. He is at home on the stage.
  • He has owned gyms for a decade and always did alright. When he met Alex Hormozi, he learned how much more successful his gyms could be if he improved his business skills.
  • Hormozi eventually asked him to teach sales for the supplement company Prestige Labs.

How Ed Stayed On Track

  • Letting data and logic drive decisions will usually lead to good results. Most of his mistakes, he says, are because of emotion.
  • He tries not to judge himself on his past mistakes.

Issues in the Gym Industry

  • Gym owners believe they sell ‘fitness’ when what they really sell is coaching.
  • People want to go to a gym that sells them coaching, results, and accountability – not just workouts.
