On this week’s episode, we talk to Anna Harvey; a final year medical student at Kings College London who has just taken an exciting year out to work for the BMJ as their editorial scholar, overseeing all the content written for students. Anna is also one of the hosts for BMJ’s incredibly popular podcast for medical students: ‘Sharp Scratch’. Join us as we explore her love for literature and medicine, and how she has spent the year combining her passions.
Juggling life as a podcast host herself, being a medical student and the most junior member of the BMJ team has given Anna amazing insight into many topical issues which we explore in this episode. Join us as we pick Anna’s brains on subjects including: Covid 19, inequalities faced by medical students, the ‘artistic’ side of medicine, realistic problems medical students face such as food poverty, LGBTQ+ healthcare workers, the long term impacts of Covid-19 on medical education and many other interesting systemic issues. We hope that you learn as much from Anna as we did!
